The Dixie II cruise starts out from a dock at the Zephyr Cove Marina, which is located about 20 miles west of Carson City via U.S. 50.
As passengers stroll down the long, wooden dock that leads to the paddle-wheeler, there is an air of anticipation, which only seems to intensify after having your photo snapped (souvenir shots can be purchased as indicated by this picture) and being led across the gangplank and onto the ship.
