"Lucky Peak State Park" - Idaho - 9.6.2006
3000-foot elevation. The three units of this day-use park are all located near the Lucky Peak Reservoir, just outside of Boise. The lake itself is 12 miles long, and when filled, 258 feet deep. Reservoir levels change daily.
Discovery Unit is available for picnicking and fishing, and sheltered pavilions are available for groups. Discovery is a great place to relax among the magnificent trees and the rocky canyons which offer beauty and solitude. You can usually see waterfowl and songbirds during the summer. Bald eagles are common during the winter.
Sandy Point, at the foot of Lucky Peak Dam, boasts one of the state`s most popular beaches, as well as a picnic and concession area. Shade trees at the edge of the beach offer relief for the sun-conscious.
The Spring Shores Unit offers boat docks, a ramp, boat trailer parking, a marina and resort services.
